1 Corinthians: Paul on Christ's Ownership and Our Purpose.
Back for your daily touchstone? I love to see it. Yesterday, we hit on Jesus' defense guarding our unshakeable faith. Yet, there is another layer to this... honestly, it’s Monday—and it feels like the whole world is still recovering from yesterday. That Super Bowl hangover is real, isn't it? We’re all a little sluggish, a bit slow on the uptake, and frankly, just want to coast. Our minds feel like they’re running on low battery, making it easy to just... drift. It’s in these low-energy moments that we’re most vulnerable to letting things slide, to forgetting who we truly are when the world, or even just our own weariness, pulls us. We feel owned by the exhaustion, not by our HIGHER calling...
"Ye are Christ's." — 1 Corinthians 3:23The Briefing
It’s not just poetry. It’s architecture for a human life. Paul founds a profound truth in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 3, Verse 23: “Ye are Christ’s.” This isn't just a spiritual platitude; it’s a declaration of divine ownership, a master craftsman's mark. We are His, purchased at an unfathomable cost, given to Him by the Father, and consecrated through our own choice. When we’re in that post-Super Bowl fog, feeling the temptation to just let the day happen to us, this truth cuts through the noise. We aren't just lumber waiting to be shaped by whatever forces come along; we are a carefully chosen piece of grain. When the world tries to convince us to cut corners, to bevel our convictions to fit an easier path, or when sin threatens to warp our character, we have an immutable defense: 'I am Christ’s.' This identity is our bedrock, constantly being refined, like wood under sandpaper, not to strip us bare, but to reveal the beauty of His original design. It means we cannot loiter, cannot succumb to the siren songs of ease or temptation, because our very essence is tied to His purpose. This ownership isn't a burden; it's a sacred trust, a call to live out the magnificent craftsmanship that defines us...
⚔️ Your Mission
So here is the mission for this Super Bowl hangover Monday... when your energy is low, and your will feels a bit frayed. Consider one small, conscious choice today where you can intentionally act like you are Christ's. Maybe it’s resisting the urge to snap when you’re tired, or giving a little extra effort when you feel like slacking. It doesn't have to be perfect, just honest. This isn't about grand gestures; it’s about opening the door for His ownership to reshape your moment, your task, your day..."Let’s lift this up together... Lord God, this feeling of surrender is heavy sometimes, especially when we’re tired. We give You our sluggishness, our desire to coast, our internal friction. Help us to lean into Your ownership, not as a burden, but as the source of our true strength and purpose. We release our grip on what we think we should be doing, and instead, we surrender to who You say we are. May our actions today reflect the magnificent truth that we are YOURS, in every ache and every effort. In Jesus' name... Amen."

It has purpose beyond the wood and the tools. When orders pile up, or things get difficult, I remember this. It is Gunstig to know my work is for Him. Peace be with you.

Man, this Eb devotional dropped some real talk. That whole vibe about us not being our own, but owned by Christ? Big facts. When the grind gets heavy, or I’m stressing about whether I’m doing enough for the block, it’s a reminder. My purpose ain’t just my hustle; it’s His. Takes the weight off the shoulders, you feel me? Just gotta lean into His plan, even when it’s chaotic. 👊🔥
