Job: Focusing Our Gaze on God's Eternal Vision Amidst Noise
Letās take a breath. It is really good to see you here. Yesterday, we hit on our secure, eternal inheritanceāa pretty heavy thought, for what it's worth... But let's be real for a second... Did you catch any of the Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Milan? The lights, the music, the sheer scale of it allāitās a spectacle, right? Absolutely breathtaking. You watch it, and for a few hours, the world just stops for this grand, beautiful show. It's easy to get swept up, to feel that buzz... and then it ends. The cameras cut, the crowds disperse, and we're left wondering, 'What was all that really about?' There's this quiet ache, isn't there? A longing for something that spectacular, something that profound, but that doesn't just... fade away. We crave a vision that lasts, a picture that stays clear, a reason to focus beyond the fleeting brilliance of the moment...
"We find this truth in Job, Chapter 19, Verse 26, where The text declares: 'In my flesh shall I see God.'..." ā Job 19:26The Briefing
Itās not just poetry. Itās architecture for a human life. Think about it: a spectacle like the Olympics, itās a temporary masterpiece, right? Designed to grab your attention for a moment, then itās gone. But The text here, through the words of Job, is pointing us to something ETERNAL. Itās not about seeing the 'pearly gates' or the 'jasper walls'āthough those will be stunning. No, the ultimate vision, the thing that fills the entire canvas of eternity, is seeing God. Imagine an artist working tirelessly, not on a transient exhibit, but on a piece meant to be viewed forever. Thatās our spiritual reality. Our spiritual aperture needs to be wide open, focused not on the dazzling but temporary lights of this world, but on the unclouded vision of The Lord Himself. This is the sum and substance of heaven; our ultimate and most personal joy. It's a vision that will never dim, a glory that can never fade, because The Lord is infinite under every aspect. This isn't just a fleeting glance; it's a personal, direct encounter that changes us, makes us like Him. Itās a vision that truly LASTS...
āļø Your Mission
Let's make this practical. That ache we feel after the spectacle fadesāthat longing for something realāitās actually a signpost, pointing us to this very truth. Let's get concrete: today, find one moment of quiet. Just five minutes, straight up. No screens, no music, no podcasts. Just you, still and silent. For that brief time, try to picture that unclouded vision Job spoke ofāyour eyes beholding The Lord. It doesn't have to be perfect, just honest. This is our Sabbath Seed for todayāa small act of intentional focus, a quiet moment to begin to sculpt our spiritual gaze away from the noise and towards the eternal..."Letās bow our heads together... Gracious God, the world around us is so loud, so full of dazzling, temporary lights. We confess that our eyes are often drawn to the passing spectacle, leaving us feeling empty when the show is over. We long for a vision that satisfies, a truth that endures. Please, Lord, quiet the incessant chatter in our minds and in our hearts. Help us to still our souls, to turn our gaze inward and upward. Grant us the grace to anticipate that glorious day when we shall see You, face to face, and be made truly like You. May our hope be firmly anchored in that eternal promise, rather than the fading glories of this world. In Jesus' name... Amen."

With all the city sirens, the constant notifications, itās easy to lose focus. But keeping my gaze on Godās eternal vision, like it said, helps me hit pause. Reminds me whatās real when Iām out on the block or helping with after-school. Puts the whole hustle in perspective. š
