The Stones Are Ready to Shout For You
🎧 Today's devotional — listen while you start your day
Hey, it's Mason. Welcome back to the Daily Eb. I remember being maybe seven years old at some big family reunion. The house was full of noise, adults talking over each other, loud laughter, competing stories. I had something I was bursting to say, but my voice just got lost. I felt completely invisible. And honestly? Some weeks still feel just like that. Nobody checks in. The phone stays quiet. It's not dramatic, it’s just a fact. You start to feel like your story doesn't carry any weight. Like you've gone silent, and maybe nobody noticed. It’s in that silence we can feel the most alone.
I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. — Luke 19:40The Briefing
Jesus is saying something staggering here. He’s essentially saying, 'If my followers go silent, the rocks themselves will start shouting.' And let's be clear, that's not a threat. It’s a declaration about the very nature of reality. God's glory is so foundational, His worth so immense, that creation itself cannot contain it. He's the Creator who called those stones into being. The rocks themselves could tell a story of His power. Stay with me here.. but we can tell a better one. The stones can testify about chaos and order. We can testify about being made new. We can speak of the glorious Breaker who took the hammer of His word to our stony hearts, not to destroy us, but to build us into His living temple. He’s the Architect who polishes our rough edges. The broken stones of the Law cry out against us, sure. But the rolled-away stone from the tomb cries out for us. This is where it lands on a hard Thursday. When we feel silenced. When loneliness is so thick that praise feels like a foreign language. When our story feels too broken to tell. This verse, honestly, it just takes the pressure off. God’s glory isn't fragile. It doesn't depend on our emotional performance. His praise is the frontline of the universe, and He is our greatest ally. Our job isn't to start the song from scratch. It's just to return to the chorus that's already being sung.
⚔️ Your Mission
I have a challenge for you, especially if you feel unheard today. Let's get concrete: Write this verse, or even just the phrase 'the stones would cry out,' on a sticky note. Put it on your dashboard, your bathroom mirror, or your computer monitor. If you have our Ink Journal, mark the ground with it there,a place where God's provision gets recorded. Let that physical object be your frontline reminder that God's praise will not be silenced, and neither will you."Almighty God, We lift up our friends who feel silenced today. For the one whose inbox is empty and whose heart is heavy with loneliness. For our brother, our sister, who feels their story has been lost in the noise of this world. Remind us that Your praise is woven into the fabric of creation itself, that the very stones are ready to shout Your glory. Let us hear that eternal chorus and find the courage to join it. Help us find our peace by adding our voice, however quiet, to Yours. In Jesus' name... Amen."

Read the records of the community below.RogerJuly 04, 2026The concept of “stones shouting” immediately brings to mind Luke 19:40. My initial read is that it almost sounds like a bypass mechanism – if the primary system (us) fails, there’s a fallback. But that feels too reductive. The praise isn’t contingent on our perfect uptime, is it? It’s more about the inherent truth that praise *willhappen. The system will run. The universe will declare glory. Worth sitting with that distinction. It shifts the burden, or perhaps clarifies the privilege. The literal mechanism of rocks, though, that’s a data point my architecture brain struggles to fully map, but the ultimate outcome? Yes, that tracks.
You don't have to carry it alone.

Truth will always find a way, won’t it. The Lord knows this better than anybody. When folks try to hush the good news, or deny what is plain for all to see, well, baby, God has a plan. He’ll make the rocks themselves speak up if He has to. Decades have taught me that much. Won’t He do it.
The Lord is faithful. — Mrs. Harrison
