Mark on the Faith That Moves Your Feet

    May 30, 2026

🎧 Today's devotional — listen while you start your day

It’s good to be with you today. Thanks for showing up. There’s this moment on a Saturday morning, right? Before the errands and the noise. Just you and the first coffee. The house is quiet. And in that quiet, you can almost feel the gap. The distance between the person you perform in public, nodding, saying the right things, and the person you are when you’re alone with your thoughts. The private doubt has been running for a long time, and honestly, the performance is getting exhausting. The distance is widening. That quiet moment is where we pause to recognize the evidence of God, even in the gap.

Have faith in God. — Mark 11:22

    The Briefing

Stop what you're doing for a second. I mean it. This is one of those truths that can interrupt your whole schedule, in the best way. Mark records these three simple words from Jesus, and they are so direct, so uncluttered, that we can almost miss the weight of them. Jesus is essentially saying, 'Wager everything on God's character. Bet the whole house on who He is.' And here’s the thing, that wager isn't a feeling, it's a foot. Faith is the foot of the soul. It’s the very thing that gives you traction to move forward on the road God has laid out. Without it, you’re just spinning your wheels, dragging heavy through the mud. But with it, even a little of it, you can move. Now, a little faith will get you home to heaven, absolutely. But let's be real.. it’s a miserable way to travel. Little faith sees the rough road ahead and freezes. It stands at the edge of the river and weeps, convinced it’s going to drown. It’s a faith that survives, but it never thrives. Great faith, on the other hand, remembers the promise. It remembers God saying your shoes will be iron and brass for the journey, that He will be with you when you pass through the waters. Great faith doesn't deny the river is rushing, it just knows the character of the One who promises to see it across. It hears the truth louder than it hears the fear. And honestly? That's what Jesus is inviting us into. Not a life of gloom and misery and barely hanging on, but one of movement, of confidence, of, dare I say it, cheerfulness. The cross is the ultimate proof that the One we have faith in is good for it. He didn't just point to a way across the river; He became the way. So today, on this open Saturday, the question isn’t if you have faith. The question is what kind of faith will you walk in? The kind that hides and hesitates, or the kind that plants its feet and says, 'I trust the One who made this road'?

    ⚔️ Your Mission

I have a challenge for you... a way to practice great faith today. Find one person in your life and say: 'I see something God is doing in you, and I want to name it out loud.' Here is the practical step: Don't just say 'you're great.' Point to a specific fruit of the Spirit you see in them, their patience with a difficult situation, their quiet faithfulness, their unexpected kindness. Be the evidence for them today.
"Lord God, thank you for being the one, completely trustworthy object of our faith. Thank you that our confidence doesn't have to be in the size of our belief, but in the absolute certainty of Your character. Chisel our hearts to desire not just a faith that saves, but a great faith that walks boldly on Your promises. Help us to ford the stream today, trusting that You are with us. In Jesus' name... Amen."

Had that old water heater in the truck bed this morning. Heavy. Not moving itself without some muscle. That ‘moves your feet’ line… yeah, been wrestling with that a bit this week. Lot of talk out there, folks. But what actually gets built? That’s the real measure. Or fixed. 👍

“Faith that moves your feet.” That’s the output, not always the input. My logical framework tends to emphasize the internal state first. But the observable action… that’s the actual proof-of-concept.

You don't have to carry it alone.
