When we meet a real need for a real person, we are doing more than charity. We are showing our love for Jesus himself. He’s the one who said it, 'Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' So every act of generosity, every dollar given, every hour served, it’s an offering placed directly into the hands of Christ. It’s how our faith gets its sea legs. Our spiritual life can feel thin, like we're just going through the motions. And we think the answer is to try and feel more. But God’s answer is often to give more. It’s the muscle that gets stronger with use, the only way to build real endurance.
