Inner Light: How Moses and Genesis Help Us See Grace in Darkness...
Welcome... It's Just you, me, the Lord, and a couple of minutes... Let's do this... Welcome to The Daily Eb, where we calibrate the soul for the digital rabbit hole... Yesterday, we talked about how Moses challenged us to actively separate the light from the darkness in our lives, cutting the wires on the things that dim our souls... ... ... This is Part 2 of our 4-part series on Finding Rest There... And honestly, we aren't done with this verse yet—Genesis, Chapter 1, verse 4. There is still a bit to uncover... I was chewing on this idea earlier while fixing a lamp in the garage... The lamp had stopped working... I checked the bulb, the switch, the cord... everything seemed fine... But then I noticed a tiny break in the wiring, almost invisible to the naked eye... It was just enough to kill the connection... Here’s the thing... Sometimes, our faith feels like that lamp... We go through the motions, we try to shine, but something's just not working... We might beat ourselves up, thinking it’s a character flaw, or a lack of discipline... But maybe... just maybe... the problem isn't a total absence of light... but a tiny break in the connection...
"And God saw the light."— Genesis 1:4The Briefing
Moses reminds us that The Lord saw the light... He looks on that light with peculiar interest... It's like The Lord has given you that light, and it is dear to Him as His own handiwork, and because it is like Himself... He sees the light in your heart, even when the cloudiness and gloom of your soul conceals it from you... The light is the dawn of the eternal day...
⚔️ Your Mission
So here is the mission... Think of that tiny break in the wire... Your mission today is to find that break in your spirit... that tiny disconnect that's dimming your light... Maybe that looks like taking five minutes for silence, and asking The Lord to reveal it... Maybe that looks like admitting a small dishonesty to yourself or someone else... Acknowledging the little things that are dimming your light is like finding that broken wire... and setting the stage for The Lord to restore the connection..."Let’s turn our hearts toward home for a second... Lord God, We come before you, acknowledging the shadows in our lives... the small disconnects that dim our light... Reveal to us those areas where we've lost connection, where the wiring is frayed... Give us the courage to face those truths, and the grace to accept Your healing... Thank you for seeing the light within us, even when we cannot... Guide us toward wholeness, toward the full brilliance of Your love... In Jesus' name... Amen."

There is a profound peace in the idea that ‘God saw the light’ before the sun was even created. It reminds us that His vision isn’t dependent on our ‘brightness.’ He sees the spark He placed within us even when we’re standing in the garage of our own lives, surrounded by broken tools and dim corners.
Today’s mission isn’t about working harder to shine; it’s about the quiet work of re-soldering the connection. Admitting where we’ve let the ‘wires’ of our soul get pinched by distraction or small compromises isn’t a failure—it’s the first step of restoration.
He was faithful in the first dawn. He is providing the current for your light right now. Mark the break. Restore the connection
You don't have to carry it alone.
