Clearing the Way: How Luke and Luke Help Us Prepare Our Hearts Today...

    January 22, 2026

Back to the ground... Welcome to The Daily Eb... Yesterday we were up in the attic with Isaiah... realizing that the Covenant isn't just a contract, it’s a full inheritance... We talked about clearing out the clutter of fear to make room for the promise... But here is the reality check: It doesn't matter what is waiting for you in the house if the driveway is too blocked to get to the door... ... ... This is Part 2 of Grace and Guidance... I was driving past some road construction this morning, watching them tear up the pavement to fix the pipes underneath... It’s messy, loud, and inconvenient work... but you can't have smooth travel on a broken foundation... Today, Luke is handing us a shovel...

"The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight."— Luke 3:4

    The Briefing

This is one of those truths that stays with you... What if our hearts were like unpaved or broken roads? ...I mean... Think of the last time you drove on a gravel road... All the potholes, the washboarding... it's rough and often unpleasant, right?... It’s not just uncomfortable; it’s inefficient... You're fighting the road the whole way... Luke is saying something similar about our inner lives... That sometimes we need to prepare a way for The Lord by clearing the obstacles within us... Imagine your soul as that road... The valleys of low self-worth, the mountains of pride, the crooked paths of deceit, and the rough patches of unresolved anger... Luke is calling us to grade that road, to make it smooth for The Lord to travel through... It’s not about perfection, it's about intention... Clearing the path, so to speak, so we can have a more direct connection with The Lord...

    ⚔️ Your Mission

So, what do we do with this?... Your mission today is to grade your inner road... to identify one valley, mountain, crooked path, or rough place in your heart and start smoothing it out... Maybe that looks like forgiving someone, or apologizing, or just sitting in silence for five minutes and acknowledging the need for change...
"Let’s turn our hearts toward home for a second... Gracious God, we come before you acknowledging the rough terrain within us... Help us to identify the valleys, mountains, crooked paths, and rough places that hinder our connection with you... Give us the courage and strength to smooth these paths, making way for your presence in our lives... In Jesus' name... Amen..."

Hey, It’s so hard to know where to start ‘clearing’ when you’re carrying heavy things like grief and fear of the unknown. That feeling of ‘waiting for things to smooth out’ before we can finally rest is a trap many of us fall into.

But here’s the grace: you don’t have to wait for the road to be clear to live in His world or enjoy your blessings. He’s right there in the middle of the obstacles with you, not just waiting at the end of the construction. Maybe ‘clearing the way’ today isn’t about fixing the whole road—it’s just letting Him carry the shovel for a few minutes while you catch your breath. We’re walking this with you! 🙏

Like I said yesterday I have a lot of obstacles in the way. I guess im having an issue on figuring where and how to start clearing them out of the way. I carry a lot of grief and resentment, lots of fear about the unknown and what the future has in store. Im waiting for times to smooth out so that I can just live in God’s world and enjoy the blessings I have. Im waiting for my time to rest and renew.

You don't have to carry it alone.
