Finding joy in God's service: Psalm's wisdom for gladness.
Alright! Digital rabbit hole avoided. Nice work. Yesterday, we found boundless satisfaction in God... Now, let's pivot... You know that little heart-skip you get when your phone battery drops below 10%? The screen dims, the apps slow, and that little red sliver screams 'DANGER!'... It's that battery anxiety, right? The panic of running on fumes when you still have SO much to do, or you're miles from a charger... Sometimes, I think our spiritual lives feel like that, too... We're trying to serve, to show up, to do the right thing, but we're running on empty, feeling more drained than delighted... We might go through the motions, but the joy—the actual GLADNESS—it's just GONE... And we wonder, is this really how it's supposed to feel?...
"Listen to this passage from Psalm, Chapter 100, Verse 2: "Serve the Lord with gladness."..." — Psalm 100:2The Briefing
If I’m being real, I’ve struggled with this one for a long time... We often think service is about gritting our teeth, pushing through, doing what's necessary even when it feels like a heavy burden... But The Psalmist here—he's not just urging us to serve; he’s talking about gladness... Think about an ancient map... If the cartographer's spirit was dim, the whole relic would feel lifeless, a mere duty... But when the mapmaker poured joy into the craft, it transcends being just a record of a timeline; it becomes a piece of art, vibrant and inviting... The Lord isn't looking for slaves, for people just ticking boxes... He wants hearts that are genuinely cheerful, glad to be in His service... That gladness isn't a bonus feature; it’s the VERY essence of true worship... It’s the energy that fills us, not drains us... It's the opposite of that battery anxiety, isn't it? When we serve with joy, we're not running on empty; we're running on a power source that actually RECHARGES us... It proves our sincerity—our love for Him isn't forced, it’s REAL... Our joy is His livery, His chosen uniform for us...
⚔️ Your Mission
Here is the challenge for today... We’re surrounded by opportunities to serve, to do good, to pour ourselves out... But sometimes we say 'yes' out of guilt, out of habit, or because we think we 'should'... Your move is simple: Practice 'The Sacred No' this week... Identify one area where you’re serving—or even just doing something—out of pure obligation, without a single spark of gladness... It could be a commitment, a task, or even just a mindset... And then, prayerfully consider if this is something The Lord truly desires you to carry in this moment, or if you can step back, re-evaluate, or even say 'no'—at least for now... It’s not about laziness; it’s about making space for the gladness The Psalmist talks about... It doesn't have to be perfect, just honest... Five minutes of reflection is enough..."Lord, we’re just stopping the clock for a second... Heavenly Father, thank You for not wanting mere robotic obedience... Thank You for desiring our gladness, our joy, our true heart in serving You... We are so grateful that You value our delight over our duty, our cheerfulness over our rote tasks... Help us to understand that our joy in You is not just for us, but for You... In Jesus' name... Amen."

It’s tough to stay focused and joyful when you’re running on empty. Like trying to get the last bolt tightened when you’ve been working on your Ford truck all day. 👍 Blessings

That “Finding joy in God’s service” hit me. It’s not just big moments; it’s about those small “heart-skip” feelings when you actually help someone, even during a stressful work week. Like, taking a minute to genuinely guide a new intern through a complex marketing brief, or even just clearing the tech issues for someone on Sunday. It’s impactful to see how relevant His presence is in those acts. Next steps: looking for more of those micro-moments.
