Tilling the Soul: How 2 Peter Helps Us Cultivate Grace Today...
Hey, Welcome... It's Just you, me, the Lord, and a couple of minutes... Let's do this... Welcome to The Daily Eb, where we learn to see the sacred in the ordinary... Yesterday discussed where 'Luke speaks of preparing a way for The Lord within us, calling us to clear inner obstacles like low self-worth, pride, deceit, and unresolved anger to create a smoother connection with The Lord'... ... ... This is Part 3 of our 4-part series on Grace and Guidance... The smell of damp earth after a long rain... It's a smell that speaks of potential, of growth waiting to happen... I was sitting with this for a while... thinking about a farmer I know, who spends hours preparing his fields, not just for the harvest, but for the simple act of planting... The other day I saw this young kid I know finally land that trick he’s been working on for months… months of trying and failing and just getting back up again… It was awesome…
"Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ"— 2 Peter 3:18The Briefing
It’s funny how a few ancient words can read your mail so clearly... Peter isn't just talking about some vague, ethereal concept... he’s talking about active cultivation... think about a garden... you can't just scatter seeds and expect a bountiful harvest... you have to till the soil, remove the weeds, water consistently, and provide the right nutrients... and then, even after all that, you have to be patient, trusting that the seeds will sprout and grow in their own time... Similarly, Peter speaks of growing in faith, love, and humility... These aren't passive traits; they require tending... we have to actively seek opportunities to deepen our understanding of Jesus, to extend our love to others, and to humble ourselves before The Lord... This growth isn’t a one-time event, it’s a continuous process... it’s not about perfection, it’s about direction... It's about consistently turning toward The Lord, seeking His guidance, and trusting in His grace to nourish our souls...
⚔️ Your Mission
Here is the challenge for today... consider one area of your life where you feel stunted or stagnant... Your mission today is to tend that soil... maybe that looks like spending a few extra moments in prayer, reaching out to someone you’ve been meaning to connect with, or simply acknowledging your own limitations and asking for help... Remember, growth takes time and effort, but with The Lord's grace, even the smallest seed can blossom into something beautiful..."Lord, we’re just stopping the clock for a second... Lord Jesus, thank you for the reminder that spiritual growth is a process... Help us to be patient with ourselves and with others as we strive to cultivate the virtues you call us to... Give us the strength and the wisdom to tend the soil of our hearts, removing the weeds of negativity and doubt, and nourishing the seeds of faith, hope, and love... In Jesus' name... Amen."

I really love how everything that we’ve studied so far has been pushing us toward a total revamp in our lives. Being a Christain, that spent a lot of years away from the church and the word of God for me means that even though outwardly I look like im living a half Godly life. I can justify the works I have done so far as adequate but the truth is the word humbles me and gets me to see areas that need a deeper clean. I am grateful for this because I am absolutely the type of person that responds well to being called out by trusted sources. Thanks again!
