So for us, this verse isn't a call to earn our way back. It's an urgent invitation to stop trying to navigate by the shifting winds of our feelings or the culture's currents. When our spiritual life gets thin, when we feel that emptiness, the temptation is to just try harder. But this passage calls us to do something different.
