John: Through the Fog, Find Freedom in His Name

    March 03, 2026

Glad you're here. We're waking up to another morning where the sky's just a flat, unchanging gray, isn't it? It reminds me of digging through an old junk drawer, finding a MapQuest printout from 2005 – completely useless now, a relic from a time when we used to plot every turn by hand. We collect so many things that promise to help, only to find they're just expired coupons for systems that don't even exist anymore. In all that noise, all that searching for what actually works, this audio devotional experience, The Daily Eb, is where we silence the hurry. It's tough to know what to trust, what really guides us. But there’s an ancient promise, a truth that still cuts through all the modern static.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son — John 14:13

    The Briefing

We’ve all got those junk drawers in our lives, don't we? Full of forgotten maps to places we don't go anymore, chargers for phones we tossed years ago. We pile up solutions for problems that have shifted, changed, or just plain vanished from our timeline. It's easy to feel like our prayers are just another expired coupon in that drawer, right? Like we're asking for things that are just 'out of date,' or that the system for answering them has been decommissioned. But here is the other side of that coin. Look at what is written in John : 'And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.' John here, he’s not just reporting something cool Jesus said. He’s laying out an architectural blueprint for how we connect with the divine. It's not just poetry. It’s architecture for a human life. Jesus isn't saying 'name it and claim it' in some vague, wish-fulfillment way. He’s giving us access, straight up. When we ask in His name, it’s like using a master key for an ancient, robust system that hasn't changed. We're not just throwing up requests. We’re operating with His authority. This isn't some new app that's going to be obsolete next year. This is part of an unbroken timeline, a covenant that makes our requests not just possible, but powerful. The logic of the Kingdom is so different from the logic of the world. It’s amazing how God hides these massive truths in plain sight, ensuring that when we connect with Him, it's always for His glory. This isn't about our name becoming famous. It’s about the Father’s glory shining through His Son, even in our smallest, most honest ache.

    ⚔️ Your Mission

Here is how we walk this out today. This isn't about perfecting anything, just about honest connection. I want you to try stepping outside for just two minutes today, and really look at one thing God made. Not a photo, not a memory, but truly see it. Maybe it’s the way the light hits a cloud, or the intricate pattern on a piece of bark. Let that specific, physical thing speak to you.
"Lord, we’re just stopping the clock for a second, right here, right now. We claim the promise that when we ask in Jesus’ name, it’s not a forgotten request, but a direct line. We stand firm on that authority, knowing that You listen, and You act, all to Your glory. We trust this ancient system still works, straight up. In Jesus' name... Amen. Almighty God,"

“Through the Fog.” Reckon that’s what a job site feels like sometimes. Plans change. Folks get stressed. But finding that “freedom in His name”? That’s about getting clarity. Spot on for making sure we build things right, no shortcuts. Keeps me grounded. Helps me make the honest call, even when it’s messy. 👍

The feeling of pushing through that ‘gray fog’ really lands. Some mornings, it’s just trying to find my brush amidst the paint chaos, or getting everyone out the door. But then, the idea of “His Name” bringing a sudden splash of clarity, like a burst of color 🎨. It makes me stop, even just for a second, and feel that shift, that vibrant freedom ✨ right there in the mess.
